Outreach
I have had the opportunity to take part in several outreach efforts to help educate visitors to Mount Rainier National Park about the impacts of climate change on the Park. For three years, I have led field trips through Mount Rainier’s subalpine meadows for groups of students from Korea, discussing the impacts of climate change on biodiversity in these communities. In addition, I wrote a report for the Park’s interpretive rangers detailing the impacts of climate change on the Park’s resources (e.g., glaciers, meadows, wildlife, air quality) and gave a presentation on this topic at the Park's interpretive ranger training.
I have also served as a docent at the University of Washington Botany Greenhouse, leading tours for K-12 and college students. The greenhouse has a fantastic assemblage of plants in its teaching collection, check out their website for more information:
